Our Philosophy
Software can always be improved. It’s never done. We continuously incorporate ideas that stem from user feedback. Users of our cloud service get immediate access to our latest efforts to improve UniversitySite.
Before cloud-based solutions became mainstream, it was common for new versions of apps to release yearly updates. It’s now more common for apps like UniversitySite to be updated continuously.
Q: How often will our site be updated?
Continuously. Especially when a fix or an improvement is available.
Q: Will we be notified of changes in advance?Updates are automatic and continuous. You can check the change log at any time to see what been changed.
Q: I need a bug fix. Will it include unrelated changes?Bug fixes are deployed as cumulative updates that include improvements and new features. When a bug fix has been applied to your site, refer to the change log to see if anything else was changed.
Q: What about major changes?
Since minor improvements and fixes are applied continuously, you’ll notice changes from time to time. Every few years, apps undergo major changes. For example, InstructorSite was completely revamped for 2017. We categorize that as a major change. Before pushing a major change, we will communicate with you about it and coordinate the update. It’s important to note that when a major change is released, it must be applied to your site ASAP, so that fixes and improvements can continue to be applied to your site or your site falls out of sync and become stale. When a fix is needed on a stale site, the site must be brought up to date with all major changes and improvements.
